This Valentine’s Day, I had the privilege of attending the Strawberry Sundae Valentine’s Day Ball at Cloud 9, and it was truly a night to remember. As a Solo Old Skool Raver, this event wasn’t just another party—it was a celebration of everything that makes rave culture so special: the music, the people, and the connections we’ve made over the years.

From the moment I stepped into Cloud 9, the atmosphere was electric. The Strawberry Sundae crew had transformed the venue into an immersive wonderland, filled with vibrant colors, lights, and sounds that set the perfect tone for the night. The music was a perfect blend of old-school rave anthems and fresh beats that had everyone on the dancefloor. It was the kind of set that brought everyone together, lost in the rhythm and joy of the moment.

One of the standout features of the night was the lighting. Pulse Lazers truly outdid themselves, filling the venue with mesmerizing beams and dynamic colors that danced along with the beats. It wasn’t just about seeing the lights—it was about feeling them. Every flash and beam added a new layer to the experience, making the music feel alive and pulling us all deeper into the energy of the night.

But what made this event truly unforgettable was the sense of community. As a Solo Old Skool Raver, I’ve spent many nights dancing alone, but always feeling part of something bigger. At this Valentine’s Ball, that sense of togetherness was stronger than ever. It wasn’t just about couples celebrating love—it was about all of us coming together, from different walks of life, to share in the joy and freedom that rave culture offers. The love and energy in the air were infectious, and it was clear that the bonds of this community go far beyond just the music.

For us Solo Old Skool Ravers, the event carried a deeper meaning. It was a celebration of the history, dedication, and love we’ve poured into the scene over the years. The Valentine’s Day Ball was a reminder of the roots of rave culture—the feeling of unity, of being part of something that transcends time and place. Seeing so many familiar faces, some I hadn’t seen in years, was a beautiful reminder of how we’ve all contributed to this culture and how it continues to thrive.

The day was filled with unforgettable moments, from the powerful music to the stunning lights, but it was the people that truly made it special. It wasn’t just about dancing—it was about connecting. It was about sharing moments with old friends and new ones, reminiscing about the past, and celebrating the present. As I reflect on the Strawberry Sundae Valentine’s Day Ball, I’m reminded of why I’ve been part of this scene for so long.
